My, oh my, what a wonderful day!

I will begin by telling you the story of an embarrassing incident which occurred to me on Monday night. I should probably mention that a lot of embarrassing things tend to happen to me, so this will not be a one-off report. Get used to it- I have!
I'll set the scene: We were crossing the road in front of Tesco Express after sharing a couple of pitchers of Woo Woo at the Cavendish. It was a rainy evening and hence the ground was wet. I did my typical little leap on to the curb and suddenly, I was on the floor. My stupid Primark shoes have no grip and so before I could do anything about it, I skidded on the pavement landing with a thud (quite painfully might I add) on one bum cheek. I sat on the ground for a couple of moments in stunned silence listening to people laughing at me. Not only that but everyone in Tesco's turned round to stare too! The irony is, I wasn't even remotely drunk and people probably thought I was off my tits! Still, later on in Embrace that night I found £5 so it's swings and roundabouts really. My bottom is quite sore though. The moral of the story kids is don't wear shitty shoes in wet weather. You will cause yourself an injury!

It is raining again today and as I have learnt my lesson I am wearing sensible footwear (but not in a euphemistic lesbian way). I had another 9am lecture this morning and it was torture having to get up so early. I don't know how normal people with 9-5 jobs and other responsibilities do it. I used to be really good at getting up on time, but as I've got older, I've lost the knack. My bed doesn't want to let me go!

I went to check out Pippa's house after spending a very dull hour listening to our lecturer droning on quite unenthusiastically about child development. To start with I thought he was South African, but then I tuned in to his accent and realised he was actually French. Oops!
At 11am, we had Mac lab class and Pippa and I managed to meddle our way through the work sheet leaving out bits we couldn't do ("I'm sure that's not important"). Maybe that's why we finished early?

At 12pm, we had an academic tutorial. My tutor seems really nice even though I remember doing a nasty experiment about social anxiety for him in the first semester. Found out that we have an oral presentation to prepare for next week about any journal article which interests us. How I love making presentations...NOT! Luckily, it's only in front of a small group but even so. I'm undecided as to what topic I will pick as "anything" is a rather wide scope. This will take some careful consideration!

Went to the Fresher's Fair after the tutorial and was quite disappointed I have to say. Last year, we got free baked beans, beef jerky (the perfect vegetarian treat) tinned steak and kidney pudding (ditto), posters and loads of free Nivea samples. This year, there was a distinct lack of goodies and so I came away with a T shirt which I only got because it hit me on the head (the guy throwing them should do shot put!) and a wooden spatula. Not a great harvest considering students love to skank free stuff even if it is shite!

Finally got back in touch with work today after almost 3 months. I am doing lunches and teas tomorrow and they're going to call me later with a schedule (I won't hold my breath!). Not really looking forward to returning but it's got to be done at some point. I bet they put me on a walking round in the pouring rain as revenge!

See you later alligators x
